This week Ceri chats with Gwilym Hughes, who has achieved so much in his long fishing career. Top rod champion in both lough style and rivers Internationals, captained his country, produced a collection of fly fishing videos as well as an angling writer. He also played a big part in setting up the police fly-fishing association.
This week Ceri chats with Andy Taylor, editor of the UK’s leading Trout Fishing magazine ‘Today’s Flyfisher’. He has represented England at both the International Loughstyle and Bank fly-fishing teams.. He talks about growing up and fishing at his parents fishery in Cheshire and also working for the Angling trust promoting competition fishing in England.
This week Ceri chats with Alice Davies. She has represented her country at international level no fewer than a dozen times and been team captain on two occasions. She talks about how she started on local streams around her home as a small child and goes on to tell us about her love now for fly-fishing stillwaters. She would love to see more ladies take up fly-fishing and gives advice to any females interested in taking up the sport.
This week Ceri chats with Colin Folan. Fishery manager and ghillie at Lough Inagh Lodge Hotel, Connemara. He talks about his love for sea trout and rearing salmon smolts for both Inagh and Ballynahinch, plus he tells many tales of fly-fishing, dapping and ghilliing over the years for clients.
This week Ceri visits Ystradfellte Reservoir to fish for wild brownies at autumn time. A jewel of Welsh Waters where fish over a pound are not uncommon and with a great chance of catching a 2lb specimen. Ceri also shares with us his method of fishing dries to pick out the better fish. A beautiful lake with its Rowan tree lined banks in full colour, free rising exquisitely coloured wild browns and Red Kites soaring above for company.
This week Ceri chats with Denis Cronin. Denis has fly-fished at the highest level and represented his country many times for both Lough Style and Rivers. He has been captain, coach and manager for the Irish Teams. Nowadays he tells us of his love of pleasure fishing for wild brown trout at the loughs around his home of Cork and Kerry.
This week Ceri catches up with Mark Roberts. He shares with us his journey as a fly-fisherman from fishing the rivers in Northern Ireland, while in the army, lough style competition fishing, to being a qualified casting instructor, and onto his love for the River Usk. He talks of Dry fly fishing and interpreting a trout’s rise and some fascinating fly-tying stories.
In this weeks episode Ceri tells his story of his 19lb Lough Corrib Ferox Trout. Even tho he has been a fly-fisherman all his life, the last 15 years has seen him having a passion and could be called an obsession for large Brown Trout known as Ferox. This is quite a story, sit back and enjoy.

This week’s episode takes us to Nevada, USA. Ceri’s guest has fished worldwide for many species and filmed his adventures for his TV show, ‘Wild Fish in Wild Places’. Pyramid Lake, widely acclaimed as North America’s most beautiful desert lake is his local water which is home to the Lahontan Cutthroat trout which grow on to specimens up to 20lb, and double figure fish are commonplace.
