Hi guys, I've had a few requests lately from new patrons of the channel asking for more ferox content. So this week's episode I tell the story of a special day back in 2006 where I get 5 ferox in one day up to 12lb while fishing Corrib. Plus at the end of the day as nightime came I had an unexpected take. Day's like this don't come around that often.

This week I chat with Irish angler Darren Duffy from Cork. Even though he lives near the Black Water which has fished it all his life, it's the loughs he prefers to fish. Darren is a talented fly tier and has a feature in this Autumn issue of the Flyfishing Journal, showing his favourite patterns. He talks of the great fish he has had this season on Lough Sheelin and Ree while fishing the spent, plus how fishing the Mayfly nymph is becoming more popular and on its day can be deadly.
This week I meet up with another patron to the channel, Andy Barton. We spend a morning together on the lough and had great success, then recorded this chat at his house beside the lake. He tells us how his love for the Corrib started from a very young age on family holidays. A very modest angler and top guy!

This week’s episode I chat with Lough Corrib expert Ted Wherry. I meet up with him for a few hours as he takes me out on his boat. The fishing was tough with only a few Mayfly coming off but managed to get a few fish. We fish around Ballynanty Bay and surrounding islands and talks of the drifts, the ECA and some funny stories thrown in.
This weeks episode I chat with former Wales International and Captain, Mark Thomas. I meet up with him on the bank of his local water Talybont. He tells of his love of Lough Corrib and especially buzzer fishing and the Campto. Plus his huge brown he had last season of 13.5lb from Chew Valley.

This week I chat once more with Monaghan angler, Peter Boyle. We chat about Lough Corrib and Sheelin, he tells us how his season was last year and his hopes for this coming year. Talks of his tactics fishing articulated lures, imitating the brickeen for the large browns on Corrib. Buzzer time on Sheelin and damsels, which is often overlooked. This weeks episode I chat with Ted Wherry. He has such a passion for wild browns he left his home in the UK and moved over to the West of Ireland near the shores of Lough Corrib. He fishes most days throughout the season and loves fishing dries, whether its buzzer time, olives, mayfly or sedges. He has had great success over the years catching fish between 4 to 7lb most seasons. He also talks of his timber boat which is his pride and joy.
This week I talk of my recent success fishing for ferox on Lough Corrib. I have had great success over the years and spent hundreds of hours catching ferox to over 20lb including the record 25lb 2oz. This week I had an amazing few days on the Corrib at Portacarron Bay. I talk of my experience, the conditions, tactics and flies used. I caught all my fish on a fly given to me by professional tyer Jimmy Tyrrell, a deadly detached body mayfly. All fish were from 2.5lb to just under 6lb. Enjoy!
